To provide prodrugs of novel phenolic TRPV1 agonists.SOLUTION: As a compound for modulating the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 receptor (TRPV1) activity, a pharmaceutical composition which contains a formula (IIIa) compound is provided, for example.
