Abstract:
To provide a cocoon filament having a new property that is excellent in handleability, a method for producing the cocoon filament, and a genetically modified silkworm that produces the cocoon filament.SOLUTION: A cocoon filament comprises sericin and fibroin. The sericin consists essentially of sericin 3. A genetically modified silkworm comprises DNA in which a sericin promoter and a base sequence of a specific sequence are operably linked. A method for producing the cocoon filament comprises the step of growing the genetically modified silkworm and separating the cocoon filament therefrom.SELECTED DRAWING: None
