Abstract:
To provide a carbon fiber cord for reinforcing a urethane resin excellent in bending fatigue resistance and fray resistance, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a carbon fiber cord for reinforcing a polyurethane resin which is a carbon fiber bundle composed of constituent filaments of 3500 or more, wherein a resin containing an isocyanate compound as a constituent adheres to the carbon fiber bundle, and the carbon fiber bundle has 3 points flexure strength of 30 to 150 MPa. Further, it is preferable that the total fineness of the carbon fiber bundle is 200 to 4800 tex, and that the carbon fiber bundle comprises one fiber bundle, and that the resin containing an isocyanate compound as a constituent is a resin composed of an isocyanate and an epoxy. In addition, it is preferable that the carbon fiber bundle is applied single twist, and that a twist coefficient of the carbon fiber bundle (TM) is in a range of 1.0 to 2.0. Another method for producing a carbon fiber cord for reinforcing a polyurethane resin comprising: subjecting the carbon fiber bundle having constituent filaments of 3500 or more to twisting; impregnating the twisted carbon fiber bundle in a treatment liquid containing a resin containing an isocyanate compound as a constituent; and subjecting the impregnated twisted carbon fiber bundle to heat treatment. The invention also contains a polyurethane resin molded article using the carbon fiber cord for reinforcing polyurethane resin.SELECTED DRAWING: None
