Abstract:
To provide a decoding method capable of improving the encoding efficiency.SOLUTION: In a decoding method for decoding a bit stream to an image, the image includes at least one first unit, the first unit includes multiple second units performing inter-prediction, decodes first information from the header of the image, determines whether or not first reference index information, corresponding to the first unit, is used by using the first information, and for each of the multiple second units performing inter-prediction, (1) when a determination is made that the first reference index information is used, performs prediction processing by using the first reference index information corresponding to the first unit, and (2) when a determination is made that the first reference index information is not used, performs prediction processing by using the second reference index information provided, respectively, to the multiple second units included in the first unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12A
