Abstract:
To provide a seal device which makes foreign objects less likely to enter while reducing a pressure on a sealed object side.SOLUTION: A sealing device 1 includes an annular elastic body part 5 which seals an annular gap between a housing 2 and a rotary shaft 3 which are assembled concentrically with each other in a manner that these parts can rotate relative to each other. The elastic body part 5 has: a body part 11; and a seal lip part which extends from the body part 11 and coms into a slidable contact with the rotary shaft 3. At an outer periphery part 12 of the body part 11, a ventilation groove 21 is provided that allows communication between the sealed object side and the non-sealed object side to reduce a pressure on the sealed object side. The ventilation groove 21 is not parallel to an axial direction of the rotary shaft 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
