Abstract:
To avoid generation of a cost increase by determining a state of a switching mechanism provided at a branch position of a conveyance path without using a dedicated sensor.SOLUTION: A medium issuance device 1 includes: a conveyance path 4 and a conveyance mechanism 20; a branch path 9 branched from a branch position B of the conveyance path 4; a switching mechanism 10 changing to a first state 10A in which a medium 3 is made to enter the branch path 9 from the conveyance path 4 and a second state 10B in which the medium 3 is not made to enter the branch path 9; a sensor 35 arranged on a first direction F1 side relative to the branch position B; a sensor 34 arranged on a second direction F2 side on the opposite side of the first direction F1 relative to the branch position B; and a control section 50 for controlling the switching mechanism 10. The control section 50 executes control of changing the switching mechanism 10 to the first state 10A. Subsequently, when the sensor 34 detects the medium 3 after the sensor 35 detects the medium 3, the control section determines the switching mechanism 10 to have not been changed to the first state 10A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
