Abstract:
To provide a resin composition that can form a lightweight molding having excellent mechanical strength.SOLUTION: A resin composition contains a thermoplastic resin and a water-soluble polymer, the water-soluble polymer being dispersed like a fiber in the thermoplastic resin. In one embodiment, the water-soluble polymer is a polyvinyl alcohol resin. In one embodiment, the thermoplastic resin is a polyolefin resin. In another aspect of this invention, provided is a method for producing the resin composition. The production method includes dissolving a water-soluble polymer in a solvent to prepare a solution, melting and mixing the solution and the thermoplastic resin, and removing the solvent after the melting and mixing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
