Abstract:
To provide a method allowing reduction of an overhead caused by channel state information (CSI) feedback in full-dimensional multiple-input multiple-output (FD-MIMO) systems.SOLUTION: An evolved Node B (eNB) is configured for: generating a port precoding matrix which compress a larger number of antenna elements to a smaller number of antenna ports 1102; transmitting user equipment (UE)-specific port reference signals to UE using the generated matrix 1104; receiving a feedback signal regarding CSI measured by the UE 1106; mapping multiple data layers to UE-specific antenna ports based on the feedback signal 1108; mapping each of the UE-specific antenna ports to physical antenna elements 1110; and transmitting data to the UE based on the mapping of the multiple data layers and the mapping to the physical antenna elements 1112.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
