Abstract:
To provide a worm speed reducer capable of effectively preventing a rolling bearing internally fitted into a resin-based gear housing from being displaced in an axial direction.SOLUTION: A gear housing 9 is made of thermoplastic resin, and an outer ring 41 constituting a first bearing 18 is internally fitted into a cylindrical fitting surface 43. A first retaining member 22, which is arranged on one side of the outer ring 41 in the axial direction and prevents the outer ring 41 from being displaced to one side in the axial direction, is made of the same type of thermoplastic resin as the gear housing 9. Then, the first retaining member 22 is welded to the gear housing 9, and the side surface of the first retaining member 22 facing the other side in the axial direction is abutted against the side surface on one side in the axial direction of the outer ring 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
