Abstract:
To provide a charging device for charging an electrophotographic photoreceptor, which minimizes charging unevenness.SOLUTION: A scorotron charger has a Bernoulli effect-based suction mechanism to position a grid electrode thereof at a distance from but extremely close to a surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor. A distance between a counter surface of the suction mechanism and the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor is less than a distance between the grid electrode and the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
