Abstract:
To enable recognizing in advance a place where sudden acceleration needs to be suppressed, and to appropriately suppress occurrence of sudden acceleration due to a mistake in stepping-on operation at the place.SOLUTION: A driving supporting device for a vehicle reads own vehicle position information estimated by an own vehicle position estimation calculation part 12a (S6); refer to road map information of a road map database 16 on the basis of the own vehicle position information, and reads road map information in front of an own vehicle position (S7); then, determines whether or not there is an intersecting road in front of the own vehicle M (S8); predicts, from a lighting direction of a blinker, whether the own vehicle M will turn right or left at the intersecting road (S10); sets a non-travelable area along the intersecting road in accordance with the predicted right or left turn of the own vehicle M (S12, S13); sets an acceleration gain Ka that suppresses acceleration in accordance with an arrival distance Li from the own vehicle M to the non-travelable area (S19); and corrects a basic target acceleration αbs with the acceleration gain Ka to set a target acceleration α (S24).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
