To provide an article that has excellent weather resistance and UV resistance, and has sufficient water- and oil-repellency, slipperiness, friction durability, and chemical resistance, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing an article including a base material and, on a surface of the base material, a layer formed of a surface treatment agent comprising a polyether group-containing silane compound, wherein: the polyether group-containing silane compound is a compound with perfluoropolyether and a silane-reactive crosslinking group bound to an isocyanurate ring; and said method includes applying the surface treatment agent onto the surface of the base material by using a wet coating method.SELECTED DRAWING: None
