Abstract:
To provide a sheet carrier adapted to correct a skew by forming a loop in a sheet with a looping amount commensurate with a skew amount.SOLUTION: A sheet carrier 101 comprises a first displacement quantity detecting section 204a that detects a first displacement quantity α of a first end 201a of a roller shaft 201 of a separation roller 105a, a second displacement quantity detecting section 204b that detects a second displacement quantity β of a second end 201b, a displacement quantity calculating section 305 that calculates a difference between the first displacement quantity and the second displacement quantity, a registration roller 106a, a sheet sensor 111, a stoppage time determining section 306 that if a tip of a sheet carried by the separation roller is detected by the sheet sensor, determines a stoppage time T based on the difference calculated by the displacement quantity calculating section. A skew of the sheet is corrected by carrying the sheet through abutting the tip of the sheet against the registration roller being stopped during the stoppage time and allowing the registration roller to rotate after a lapse of the stoppage time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
