Abstract:
To detect a difference in size in a main scanning direction of a sheet without adding a sensor.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 101 according to the present invention comprises: an image forming unit 102 that forms images according to a request for printing on an intermediate transfer belt 107; a transfer unit 109 that transfers the images formed on the intermediate transfer belt 107 to a transfer material; a detection unit 112 that is arranged on the downstream side of the transfer unit 109 along a conveyance direction of the transfer material, and detects, of the images formed on the intermediate transfer belt 107, a non-transferred image not transferred to the transfer material; and a control unit 115 that detects a difference in size between the images and the transfer material based on the detection of the non-transferred image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
