Abstract:
To provide a composition that can be integrated into various topical or surface treatment compositions to further enhance attributes such as antimicrobial or preservative action and impart additional attributes.SOLUTION: A composition comprises: at least one compound of the chemical structure represented by the upper or lower formula in the figure; and at least one humectant emollient or carrier. In the upper formula, x is an odd integer greater than or equal to 3; y is an integer between 1 and 20; and Z is one of a monoatomic ion from Groups 14 through 17 having a charge between -1 and -3 and a polyatomic ion having a charge between -1 and -3. In the lower formula, x' is an integer greater than 3; y' is an integer less than x'; and Z' is one of a monoatomic cation, a polyatomic ion and a cationic complex.SELECTED DRAWING: None
