Abstract:
To improve distance measurement accuracy without increasing the power consumption of an image processing apparatus that performs distance measurement processing.SOLUTION: In an embodiment of the present invention, an image processing apparatus calculating distance information on an image has: a reliability calculation unit 113 that calculates reliability according to contrast for every pixel of the image; and a distance calculation unit 116 that calculates distance information on every pixel based on the reliability of every pixel. The distance calculation unit 116 calculates distance information for a second pixel group with a reliability lower than that of a first pixel group, within a range not exceeding the amount of operation when a collation area of a predetermined size is used for all the pixels of the image, by using a collation area of a size larger than the predetermined size.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
