Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method of bisphenol capable of improving polymerization activity, selectivity, a color tone of the obtained bisphenol by improving miscibility of a reaction liquid in slurry state, in a reaction of manufacturing bisphenol from aromatic alcohol, and ketone or aldehyde and a manufacturing method of a polycarbonate resin.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing bisphenol that produces bisphenol by condensation reaction of aromatic alcohol with ketone or aldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst and a monovalent alcohol represented by the following general formula (A). Also, a method of manufacturing polycarbonate resin using bisphenol manufactured by the method of manufacturing bisphenol. (In formula (A), n represents an integer of 1 to 5, Ra represents an alkyl group of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, an aryl group of 6 to 12 carbon atoms or an alkoxy alkyl group of 2 to 12 carbon atoms.)SELECTED DRAWING: None
