Abstract:
To provide methods for elongating telomere, for example, in one or more human cells by contacting the one or more human cells with an agent that increases expression of Zscan4 in the one or more human cells, and/or methods for improving genome stability in one or more human cells.SOLUTION: Disclosed herein is a method for treating a subject in need of telomere elongation by contacting an agent that increases expression of Zscan4 with one or more human cells in the subject or by administering an agent that increases the expression of Zscan4 to a subject in need thereof. A method for treating a disease associated with genomic and/or chromosomal abnormality, a method for rejuvenating one or more human cells, a method for rejuvenating tissues or organs, and a method for rejuvenating a subject in need thereof are also provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
