Abstract:
To provide a rapid set gel concentrate for medical products, and specifically, a concentrate for a medical device, a medical product or first aid, such as ultrasound gel.SOLUTION: A concentrate for a medical device, a medical product or first aid comprises a gelling agent, a humectant, and a preservative. In the concentrate, the gelling agent is sodium carbomer, the humectant is glycerol, and the preservative is phenoxyethanol. The gel is prepared with water, and a method of preparing the gel by mixing water and the concentrate is also included.EFFECT: The concentrate eases transportation, decreases the cost of transportation and storage, optimizes the storage space, minimizes the product cost, eases the use of a product, and reduces the risk of microbial contamination, damage to a product due to exposure to UV light, and the like.SELECTED DRAWING: None
