Abstract:
To provide means for analyzing particles in a blood sample.SOLUTION: Particles are dyed with a methacromatic dying pigment, the dyed particles are irradiated with light, each particle in a blood sample is made to emit light, and intensities of first fluorescence derived from the methacromatic dying pigment and second fluorescence derived from intercalation component of the pigment are measured. The intensities of first and second fluorescence of each particle respectively are standardized by the size of each particle, and fluorescence concentrations of first fluorescence and second fluorescence in each particle are obtained respectively. In a two-dimensional plot of fluorescence concentrations obtained by standardization, the respective particle are clustered into a plurality of particle clusters including at least two of an erythrocyte cluster, a platelet cluster and a nucleated cell cluster. With regard to at least one particle cluster included in the plurality of particle clusters, an RNA quantity histogram graded by the intensity of first fluorescence as classes and a DNA quantity histogram graded by the intensity of second fluorescence as classes are created.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10B
