Abstract:
To provide a socket contact with high retaining force.SOLUTION: A socket contact 1 includes a contact main body portion 2, an electric wire connection portion 3, and a lance 4. The contact main body portion 2 is formed in a groove-like shape including a rectangular bottom plate portion 20 and a pair of side plate portions 30. The bottom plate portion 20 includes a pair of narrow portions 21 and 22, and a wide portion 23 arranged between the pair of narrow portions 21 and 22. The wide portion 23 includes a pair of cut-and-raised width-direction edge portions 23a which are adjacent to notch holes 31 formed in base end portions 30a of the pair of side plate portions. The lance 4 is a cantilevered cut-and-raised elastic tongue piece extending from an edge portion 24a of a rectangular hole 24 formed in the wide portion 23. The width W2 of the lance 4 is equal to, or equal to or greater than the maximum outer width W1 of the pair of side plate portions 30 which corresponds to the widths of the narrow width portions 21 and 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
