Abstract:
To provide a method for decomposing sodium oxide, which can, when decomposing sodium oxide by heating into sodium peroxide and sodium, suppress corrosion of a reaction vessel.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for decomposing sodium oxide, which generates sodium peroxide and sodium by heating sodium oxide, comprising: charging sodium oxide in a corrosive reaction vessel; heating a part of sodium oxide to form a temperature gradient so that the temperature becomes lower from sodium oxide at the heated spot towards sodium oxide in the proximity of an inner surface of the reaction vessel; and decomposing sodium oxide into sodium peroxide and sodium while suppressing corrosion of the reaction vessel by suppressing temperature rise of the reaction vessel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
