Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent a reduction in the life of a photoconductor drum, and a method for controlling cleaning voltage.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises a cleaning roller and a high voltage circuit 22. The cleaning roller cleans a surface of a photoconductor drum. The high voltage circuit 22 outputs a cleaning voltage applied to the cleaning roller. The high voltage circuit 22 comprises a transformer 221, a transformer driving circuit 222, a rectification circuit 223, a constant voltage element ZD1, and a switching circuit 224. The transformer driving circuit 222 drives the transformer 221. The constant voltage element ZD1 can output a constant voltage having a polarity opposite to that of an output voltage from the transformer 221. When the switching circuit 224 is in a first state, a current flows in the constant voltage element ZD1. When the switching circuit 224 is in a second state, a current does not flow in the constant voltage element ZD1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
