Abstract:
To prevent fine particles of a processed material from being discharged from a retort into a combustion chamber in a carbide manufacturing method and a carbide manufacturing facility using an external-heating type rotary retort furnace having exhaust means to exhaust gas generated in the retort into the combustion chamber.SOLUTION: A carbide manufacturing method: uses a rotary retort furnace comprising a retort which rotates, a combustion chamber to heat a peripheral surface of the retort with combustion gas, and exhaust means to discharge gas generated in the retort into the combustion chamber; and manufactures carbide through indirect heating of a processed material inside the retort while moving the same. The carbide manufacturing method includes a process to preliminarily separate components having particle diameters equal to or less than a predetermined diameter from the processed material before the same is put into the retort.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
