Abstract:
To provide a ship propulsion machine capable of collecting fine dust such as microplastics contained in water from the sea, lakes, rivers, etc.SOLUTION: An outboard engine as a ship propulsion machine comprises an internal combustion engine, a propeller 3 to convert the power of the internal combustion engine to a ship propulsion, a power transmission mechanism (a drive shaft 4, a gear unit, and a propeller shaft 6) to transmit the power of the internal combustion engine to the propeller 3, a casing (a shaft casing 8, a gear casing 9, etc.) to cover the internal combustion engine and the power transmission mechanism, and a fine dust trap device 21. The fine dust trap device 21 is provided in the gear casing 9, and comprises a water intake 22 to take in water around the outboard engine, a trap device 25 to trap the fine dust contained in the water taken from the water intake 22, and an exhaust port 35 to drain water after trapping the fine dust by the trap device 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
