Abstract:
To downsize, with a reduced manufacturing cost, a space input system which allows input operations by touching a projected aerial video.SOLUTION: The present invention is directed to a space input system for projecting a two-dimensional aerial video in space to allow a user to carry out an input operation by moving the user's fingers as if the user touches the aerial video. The space input system is characterized by having an aerial video projecting apparatus for projecting the aerial video, a plurality of distance sensors having a light source and a light receiving device and provided such that light is emitted from the light source to the aerial video and reflected light thereof is received by the light receiving device to output a signal corresponding to a distance to the finger of the user operating the aerial video, and a position specifying unit for specifying a position of the finger of the user operating the aerial video based on the signal output from the plurality of distance sensors. The plurality of distance sensors is installed so as to emit light from the back side of the aerial video and the irradiation ranges of the light source overlap with one another on the aerial video.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
