Abstract:
To provide a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, with which a lithium secondary battery having discharge capacity that does not easily decrease even after repeated charging and discharging can be obtained.SOLUTION: There is provided a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, which includes a lithium metal composite oxide containing at least Li and Ni and which satisfies (1) and (2). (1) In the adsorption isotherm line/desorption isotherm line measurement of nitrogen gas and a pore size distribution in an adsorption isotherm line obtained by the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda method, a pore volume in a pore diameter range of 2 to 10 nm is equal to or less than 9.0×10-4 cm3/g. (2) A pore size with the maximum value of a log differential pore volume in a log differential pore volume distribution in a pore diameter range of 2 to 200 nm, based on the adsorption isotherm line/desorption isotherm line measurement of nitrogen gas and a pore size distribution in a desorption isotherm line obtained by the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda method, exceeds 10 nm and is equal to or less than 200 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
