Abstract:
To provide an additive manufacturing device for fabricating a part, and a method for fabricating a part.SOLUTION: An additive manufacturing device for fabricating a part comprises: a platen 128 having a surface configured to support the part during fabrication of the part; an ejector head 104 arranged above the surface of the platen 128, the ejector head 104 being configured to eject droplets of a molten build material toward the surface of the platen 128 to fabricate the part; and an optical system having at least one structure configured to redirect light between (i) a first location in a fabrication environment situated between the platen 128 and the ejector head 104 and (ii) a second location.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8A
