Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase durability in charge-discharge of a secondary battery by using an amphoteric ion exchanger having cation exchange groups and anion exchange groups as a positive active material. CONSTITUTION:An amphoteric ion exchanger having cation exchange groups and anion exchange groups is used as a positive active material of a battery, especially a secondary battery. A polymer compound having cation exchange groups and anion exchange groups which perform ion exchange reaction mainly in an aqueous solution is prepared in the form of a membrane, then used as the amphoteric ion exchanger. This polymer membrane has three-dimensional crosslinked structure, and is porous and has large surface area, and contains electron-conductive fine particles. This membrane is swelled with a polar organic solvent which does not attack the ion exchange membrane, then used. The durability in charge-discharge is increased.
