Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent consumable goods for forming visible images from being consumed uselessly by forcibly detecting the size of originals in case of paper feeding mode where the detection of the size of recording paper is impossible. CONSTITUTION:A logic circuit is constituted in such a way that a microswitch 23 is turned off when a manual paper feeding port 3 is upset in the direction of an arrow, so that the function of a releasing means is disabled forcibly in a manual paper feeding mode even if an original detecting function is released. In such a constitution, a reader part executes the scanning before copying (prescanning) to detect originals, and reads the size of the original 7 once. Then the scanning to read the original image is executed. Thus the stain of a non-transfer part with toner in a printer is prevented, thereby abnormal consumption of developers is eliminated.
