Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare the above stable strongly alkaline aq. soln. of a nonionic surfactant in high concn. by mixing a strongly alkaline agent, a surfactant having 3-18 HLB, and the two kinds of specified carboxylic acids. CONSTITUTION:(a) A strongly alkaline agent, (b) a nonionic surfactant having 3-18 HLB, and (c) the two kinds of carboxylic acids shown by formulas I and II are mixed to prepare the aq. strongly alkaline soln. of a nonionic surfactant. In the formulas, R<1> and R<2> are a 4-18C saturated or unsaturated straight- chain or branched-chain aliphatic hydrocarbonic group and a 5-18C aromatic hydrocarbonic group, X is -NH-, =N(CH2)nCOOM<1>, and =CHCOOM<1>, M<1> is H, an alkali metal, a 1-4C aromatic amine, ammonium, and an alkanolamine, and (n) and (m) are an integer of 1-3.
