Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain smooth, transparent and smooth plate glass having high adsorption ability, by forming a coating film of a dehydrated aluminum hydrate having specific plural characteristic absorption peaks on plate glass. CONSTITUTION:Plate glass obtained by forming a coating film of dehydrated aluminum hydrate having at least two characteristic absorption peaks selected from characteristic absorption peak group of 1,380-1,440cm<-1> and 1,610-1,650cm<-1> by infrared spectrophotometry of light transmission type on plate glass. Water dispersion consisting essentially of aluminum hydrate used, for example, is obtained by sufficiently dissolving metal aluminum in isopropyl alcohol and hydrolyzing with an acid. The thickness of the coating film of the dehydrated material is 0.5-50mu and a transparent coating film has tendency of cracking when the thickness of the coating film exceeds 50mu and tendency of reducing receiving amounts of dyestuff, catalyst, metal, etc., when the thickness is less than 0.5mu.
