Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent an electrode with unprocessed rib from initiating cracks in the drying process by mixing metal powder and metoxy-radical binder together, kneading them into a slurry, filling the rib with this slurry, turning it into a gel through heating at a certain temp, separating from the die, drying, and baking under reduction atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Metal powder and metoxy-radical binder are mixed together and kneading into a slurry, and a rib die 21 is filled with this slurry 20 followed by heating at 60-95 deg.C. The slurry 20 undergoes gelling process 23 to be turned into pudding state. When gelling of the slurry 20 is made sure, it is separated from the rib die 21. At this time, the rib 25 of this gelled slurry 24 is directed upward and taken out onto a flat and smooth surface such as a flat plate followed by drying process 26 This electrode with unprocessed rib is heated at 800-900 deg.C in an electric furnace for baking 27, to accomplish a rib equipped electrode Thus contraction of the slurry at the time of drying is hot restrained by the rib die, which prevents initiation of cracks.
