Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attempt improvement of uniformity without losing high speed durability by arranging a belt-reinforcing layer made from fiber cords on a tread part and making the cords inclined toward the tire circumference direction, and by making the width of the reinforcing layer larger than the width of a belt layer. CONSTITUTION:In a pneumatic tire in which a belt layer 5 made of steel cords is annularly arranged on a carcass layer 3 in the direction of the tire circumference, a belt edge reinforcing layer 6 made of fiber cords of organic fiber such as nylon and so forth or inorganic fiber such as carbon fiber, glass fiber and so forth is annularly arranged on the belt layer 5 in the circumferential direction. Cords 6a of this reinforcing layer 6 are provided inclined toward the tire circumferential direction EE', but preferably they are provided in parallel with the cords of the upper side belt layer 5u of the lower and the upper side belt layers 5d and 5u. Also, the width A of the belt reinforcing layer 6 is made larger than the width B of the belt layer 5. And the ratio A/B of these widths A and B is preferably made 1.15+ or -0.05.
