Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an image input device with excellent operability by loading an original platen on this side of the titled device in a way possible for drawing and loading a retaining frame switchingly onto the original platen. CONSTITUTION:The original platen is drawn to this side and a retaining frame 5 is opened by turning it upward. The retaining frame 5 is opened up to 180 deg. maximum because the frame 5 is not interferred with a reader 1, bu the frame can be held at a prescribed opening angle by using a proper stopper and a detent mechanism. While the right side of the original 6 is brought into contact with guide pieces 21, 22, the original 6 is positioned so that the desired read region enters the retaining frame 5 and the positioned original 6 is adhered closely to the original platen 4 by closing the retaining frame 5. If required, the read region of the original is designated partially by inputting the reading scales 23, 24 provided to the retaining frame 5.
