Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize the automatic setting of the address system of a network by sending an address determination message from an address setting device to all nodes connected to this device by turns from the lowest layer, and determining a logical address, and sending it together with the identifier of the node. CONSTITUTION:When a network control device layer 2 determines automatically the address of the adjacent node 7 to be networked, it sends a physical layer address determination message 10 from an OSI physical layer 5 of the lowest layer of a network control device 1 to the OSI physical layer 5 of the lowest layer of the most adjacent node 7 to be networked, and acquires its answer 12. The network control device 1 knows the number of the adjacent nodes 7 to be networked by knowing the number of the returned answers 12. On the other hand, it receives the node identifier 16 in the answer 12, and returns an instruction answer 17, and sets the logical address of the OSI physical layer 5 of the adjacent network node 7.
