Abstract:
An abnormality detector for a nozzle-type dampening system (DN) of an offset printer comprises a plurality of electrically conductive members (10) disposed between the nozzles (132) and a roller (112) of the printer. A solution detection means (30) is connected to the members (10) and the nozzles (132) to sense the electrical resistance therebetween which is representative of the amount of solution passing the members (10). If this amount falls below a predetermined threshold (TH), an error signal is generated.
