Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make control of printing positions easy in accordance with a printing position-specifying control command by a method wherein a scaling- down means consisting of a first scale-down processing section which makes scaling-down by control command and a second scale-down processing section which makes scaling-down on instructions from an operating panel is provided, and scale-down processing for the entire body of images is made by scale-down processing by operation of the operating panel. CONSTITUTION:Images for one run of printing are developed in an image buffer 8 in scaling-down ratios which are specified by commands from a host 2 respectively to each of characters. The scaling-down ratios specified by the control command specify printing positions. When a bit image is included, said image is set as it is in the same image buffer. Then, scaling-down is applied, with the scaling-down ratio specified by an operating panel, to the entire body of the image buffer. Data of dot positions that are to be thinned out are added by logical operation to the positions of adjoining dots. Then the scaling-down is made with drawing made toward off the upper left with the thinning-out applied. Then the data produced in the image buffer are used for printing.
