Abstract:
PURPOSE:To access a magneto-optical disk which can be rewritten at high speed by dividing a disk memory into plural groups based on a seeking range so as to attain access. CONSTITUTION:A host 1 consists of CPU 2, a cache memory 3 which CPU directly controls, a disk cache control part, a DMA circuit 5 which the disk cache control part 4 starts and which executes DMA between the cache memory 3 and an I/F circuit and the I/F circuit 6. The cache memory 3 is constituted by three groups and respective groups are independent. The areas of MOD 7 are continuously divided in the rang to which seeking is attained without physically moving a head and one division corresponds to one group of the cache memory 3. Consequently, the number of physically seeking times is reduced. Thus, the magneto-optical disk 7 which can be rewritten can be accessed at high speed.
