Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the characteristics of regenerative signals even if the relative inclination of a reproducing surface and an objective lens surface arises. SOLUTION: The pits and lands of a bit length 3T ('T=channel pit length), land length * 6T, pit length 7T, land length 3T, bit length 6T and land length 7T are alternately formed as the test patterns for evaluating the reading errors of an optical disk 10 in the lead-in region 27 of the inner peripheral region of the optical disk 10. An error rate is detected by reproducing the test pattern data with a reproduction system. A correction factor to minimize the error rate is determined. The regenerative signals are corrected by utilizing the correction coefft., by which the regenerative signals are reproduced by the reproducing system in the state of the lowest error rate.
