Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain optimum lightness by using a luminous quantity detection signal detected from a video signal including a color signal obtained at an image pickup means to control a clamp level clamping the color signal thereby controlling the lightness of the video signal of a liquid crystal display device automatically. CONSTITUTION:A standard color video signal Y/C obtained by the pickup processing of a video camera section 40 ts inputted to a Y/C separator circuit 20 and a synchronizing separator circuit 24 of an LCD section 50. The circuit 24 extracts a synchronizing signal and separates the signal into a horizontal synchronizing signal H and a vertical synchronizing signal V and outputs them to a CB and CP generating circuit 25 and an LCD drive circuit 26. The circuit 26 generates a drive signal for the LCD panel 30 from both the synchronizing signals and the signal is outputted to the panel 30 via a Y driver 27. On the other hand, the circuit 25 receives the signal H to generate a color burst signal CB, it is inputted to a color detection circuit 21 and generates a clamp pulse CP, which is outputted to a clamp circuit 23. The circuit 23 clamps R, G, B signals from the matrix circuit 22 and the circuit 29 sends the resulting signal to an X driver for each 1H and applies it to the panel 30.
