Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a device to easily execute the preparation of a hierarchical index by holding the plural classification indexes of hierarchical structure to be used when the data of the desired classification index are retrieved out of the classification indexes in a record. CONSTITUTION:A data base device holds the plural pairs of the records which define the data composed of the plural classification indexes as one pair of the record. An index holding means 11 holds the plural classification indexes of the hierarchical structure to be used when the data of the desired classification index are retrieved out of the plural classification indexes in the record. A classifying method holding means 12 holds the data to express a classifying method for the preparation of the classification index. A classifying method reading means 13 reads the data to express the desired classifying method from the means 12. A coupling means 14 couples the data which are read by the means 13. A classification index preparing means 15 prepares the classification index by using the data which are coupled by the means 14.
