Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent skeleton part from deforming or breaking during the forming of a tire by a method wherein core material, modulus of longitudinal elasticity and yield strength of which are higher than those of the base material of a mold, is cast as an insert in the necessary site of the skeleton part of the forming surface of a tire forming mold made of aluminum alloy. CONSTITUTION:Taper pins 10 made of material, which neither melts nor deforms during the casting of aluminum slloy, such as iron or the like are set at the groove of casting molds 1 madeof gypsum or the like under the condition that the small diameter side tip of the oin is projected. Next, the casting molds 1 are arranged in circle on a circular surface plate 2. After that, core material 11, the modulus of longit u dinal elasticity and yield strength of which are higher than those of aluminum alloy employed as the base material of the molds, is fitted to the tip of each taper pin 10. After that, under the condition that a casting frame 3 and a resin frame 4 are installed in upright positon, casting is performed by pouring aluminum melt. After the casing, only the taper pin 10 is pulled out of the mold and a taper pin, which is produced on the master of the taper pin 10 amd made of the same material as that of the mold, is employed as filler and spot-welding is applied from surface. After that, by finishing the surface, a tire forming mold, the core material 11 is cast as insert exactly at the necessary sites of the skeleton parts of the forming surface.
