Abstract:
PURPOSE:To connect and fix a clip terminal to a substrate electrode without performing soldering by ensuring the connection of the clip terminal to the substrate electrode by the elasticity of the clip terminal itself and providing an adhesive layer so as to transfer the same to the contact surfaces of both members to fix the clip terminal to the substrate electrode. CONSTITUTION:A clip terminal 12 is cut at its root part after mounting to be separated into individual terminals from a lead frame. Herein, contact pieces 14, 15 bite into substrate electrodes 4, 5 by the elasticity of the terminals to be temporarily clamped. Since copper films 22, 23 are thick and solder plating is applied to the inner surfaces of the terminals 12, the contact pieces 14, 15 come into close contact with the electrodes 4, 5. After the mounting of the terminals 12, the material of an adhesive layer 16 is applied. When a gell like instantaneous adhesive is used, the curing of the adhesive layer 16 is completed within several sec after coating. Since the adhesive is extremely high in viscosity and has no flowability and the curing time thereof is short, the adhesive does not transfer to the contact surfaces of the contact pieces 14, 15 and the electrodes 4, 5. Therefore, the electrical connection of the contact pieces 14, 15 and the electrodes 4, 5 is not obstructed by the adhesive layer 16.
