Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document display device which can call out number character data whose contents are updated onto a document by a number character call instruction and also can easily change the called number character data into other number character data even after call of the data. SOLUTION: If a regular phrase is previously registered as the number characters when a number key KA is operated, the number character string (e.g. '2nd chapter') whose number part of the regular phrase is updated is called out and displayed. If this number character string is different from the desired one, the number character string is erased and another number character string (e.g. '1.J') can be inputted by the operation of a next-candidate key KB. The number character string (e.g. '2.J') obtained by updating the newly inputted one can be immediately called out by the next operation of the key KA.
