Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the effect of preventing falsification by providing pattern layers which are patterned by using magnetic ink having different magnetic characteristics on a magnetic recording layer and a concealing layer which covers the pattern layers. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic card is constituted of the magnetic recording layer 2 on a card-shaped substrate 1, pattern layers 31 to 33 formed to desired patterns by using two kinds of the magnetic ink and ordinary ink having the different characteristics, the concealing layer 4 provided on these layers 2 and a protective layer 5 provided thereon. PET, PVC, paper, etc. are used for the substrate 1. Pattern layer 33 is used as a dummy layer. The layer 4 is formed by vapor deposition of metals, such as Al to conceal the layers 31 to 33 to avert the visual identification thereof. The patterns of the layers 31, 32 are read by the bias value A of the magnetic head and only the patterns of either one are read by utilizing the difference in the output level of the magnetic ink forming the layers 31, 32 by the bias value B at the time of reading the recorded information of the pattern layers 31 to 33.
