Abstract:
PURPOSE:To stabilize an apparatus for curing a coating agent applied to optical fiber without changing the wavelength of irradiated light by uniformly cooling the surface temperature of a lamp in the apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A microwave cavity 6 is formed with a reflecting mirror 13 and an electrodeless lamp 12 is arranged in the first focus thereof. Optical fiber (F) coated with a coating agent is then arranged in the second focus. Cooling air is blown from a prescribed direction on a luminous tube of the lamp 12 to spray a part of the cooling air on blades 121 installed in the lamp 12. Thereby, the lamp 12 is rotated.
