Abstract:
PURPOSE:To surely restrict an occupant in the rear seat irrespective of the condition by moving a passenger seat in the longitudinal direction by a seat moving device with the non-seating signal from a shock detecting sensor and a seating sensor, developing an air bag provided at the passenger seat, and restricting the forward movement of the occupant at the rear seat. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle is collided when no occupant is seated in an assistant driver's seat 2 and an occupant P is seated in a rear seat 5, a shock detecting sensor 8a inputs the seating signal from a seat sensor 6 of the rear seat together with the non-seating signal from a seat sensor 9 of the passenger seat 2 into a control unit. The ON signal is outputted to a working device of a powder type pylon system 12, a seat back 2a of the passenger seat 2 is collapsed forward, a walk-in mechanism is worked, and the passenger seat 2 is slid to the front end part of a lower rail. A second air bag 14b is inflated and developed. When occupant P are seated at the passenger seat 2 and the rear seat 5, only a first air bag 4b is inflated and developed. Two kinds of air bags are thus appropriately used.
