Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound in high yield using, as starting substances, 4-cyanofluorobenzene derivative and an azole, thus the compound is useful as a functional compound such as an organic nonlinear optical material. CONSTITUTION:A 4-cyanofluorobenzene derivative of formula II (R' is H, alkyl, aryl) is allowed to react with an azole of formula III (Z is an atomic group for forming a pyrrole ring, imidazole ring, pyrazole ring, or triazole group) in the presence of a base in a solvent such as amide, sulfur-containing compound or nitrile, preferably at 20 to 100 deg.C to give 1-(4-cyanophenyl)-azole. The product is allowed to react with a Grignard reagent of formula V (R is alkyl or aryl) followed by acid treatment to give 1-(4-acylphenyl)azole compound of formula I.
