Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject metal working oil which has excellent extreme pressure properties, oilness properties, good separability of mingling lubricant and the decrease of bacterial spoilage and is useful as a cutting fluid and grinding fluid. SOLUTION: This metal working oil comprises (A) a water-soluble polyether of formula I (R<2> is the residue of a mono-hexahydric alcohol after removal of the hydroxyl groups; R<3> is H, a 1-6C hydrocarbon group; (p) is 10-100; A<2> is a 3-4C alkylene; (q) is 0-100; (k) is 1-6) and (B) a benzothiazole ring-having compound of formula II (R<1> is H, a 1-8C alkyl; A<1> is a 2-4C alkylene; (m) is 0-20; M is an alkali metal, hydrogen of formula II (R<1> is H, a 1-8C alkyl; A<1> is a 2-4C alkylene; (m) is 0-20; if m=O, M is an alkali metal hydrogen, if m=1-20, M is H) in amounts of 10-80wt.% and 0.5-20wt.%, respectively.
